Each piece was acquired from flea markets around the Kanto and Tohoku regions of Japan in the 1970s. In mint or near mint condition, each of these farmers’ garments tells a story and reflect the heart and soul of the women who first created these indigo jackets and vests and then the generations of women who reinforced-stitched (sachiko) and eclectically patched (boro) them.
